The Christian Public Servant – “should be thankful”

November 23, 2017 – Thursday

Reading

Isaiah 12:4(b) [NIV] Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name; make known among the nations what he has done, and proclaim that his name is exalted.

Reflection

We work so hard, we sometimes forget what we work for. We work so hard, a lot of times we forget why we should be thankful.

When I remember, I work to serve God and what He has blessed me with. I work to serve Him in my workplace, and I work to serve God in the hearts and minds of the students He entrusts me with. And when I remember, I am thankful for the blessings He bestows on me in this life. The blessings of home and family. And in my family, when I remember, I work to serve God in the hearts and minds of my loved-ones.

Whether or not you work today, perhaps you have the workday off, remember why you work and why you should be thankful. And when you remember, I bet your list of thanksgivings is not much different than mine.

Today, let not work get in the way of your heart and mind. Know you should be thankful.

Prayer

Father God, I give You thanks. You give me work, but so much more! And so, I praise Your name, and I proclaim that Your name is exalted. In Jesus, I pray. Amen.
