The Christian Public Servant – “keep pressing forward”

February 15, 2018 – Thursday

Galatians 6:9 [ESV] And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Several months ago, my coworker was terribly disappointed about not getting a promotion. She could not understand how she was passed up. My friend began to question all the things she had done to prove herself worthy of advancement: putting in extra hours, always expressing interest in the projects, offering suggestions and solutions. She worked very hard and showed excellent leadership skills. Despite being very disappointed, she hung in there and, last week, was offered a management position that she gratefully accepted!

Scripture says have faith in God and keep pressing forward! Even when defeat weighs you down, don’t give up. In due season, you will be successful – if you have faith in Him.

When you have a rough day, when failure seems to follow you like a dark cloud, keep your head held high and look forward to tomorrow. Brighter days are coming, He promises, and you must be ready to receive them. Continue doing good and your reward will come. It may not come when you want it, but it will always be right on time!

At work today, give your disappointment to God. Allow Him to move you and guide your steps. Yes, keep pressing forward! And know the season of success is due.

My Father, I humbly ask You for patience and understanding during times of confusion. Even in the midst of my doubt, I will remain faithful and know that soon You are bringing me a new season. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
