The Christian Public Servant – “a chance to listen”

April 27, 2018 – Friday

Reading

Psalm 46:10 [KJV] Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Reflection

“Slow down and enjoy life.” My mom and grand mom used to tell me this all the time. But I did not know what it really meant until I gave my life to Jesus and started advancing His Kingdom here on Life Row.

It is noisy where I work. I imagine it may be noisy where you work, too. And things get hectic, don’t they? Stressful. Hardly able to think.

But when we are still, we get a chance to listen to God. We hear God’s instructions about how to solve problems, encourage others, and get things done.

No matter what happens today at work, no matter how noisy or hectic or stressful things get, slow down a bit. Take a chance to listen to Him. Learn more about the Great Father you serve. Understand more about His plans for your workday and your life.

As this workweek ends, slow down a bit. Be still, and be refreshed by your Lord.

And you will enjoy the day!

Prayer

Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray. Thank You for Your patience with me so I can slow down and be still long enough to know more about You and share it with others. Amen.
